Regular/ Ready Market

The “Regular/Ready market” refers to the standard trading segment of the PSX where shares of all listed companies are available for trading.

Odd Lot Market

Odd lot market is available for those investors who want to trade in a quantity of shares less than a regular lot (500 shares), down to as little as a single share.

Exchange Traded Fund (ETF)

An ETF is a fund holding a diversified portfolio of securities, typically tracking an underlying index. ETFs are popular for their diversification and are convenient for investors lacking the time or financial expertise to pick individual stocks.

REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust)

Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) pools funds from investors to own and manage income-generating real estate, operating similarly to a mutual fund. REITs distribute most of their income as dividends to shareholders, offering the combined benefits of the liquidity of stock investments with the stability of real estate.

SME to Growth Enterprise Market

This segment is for SMEs seeking capital market access that may not meet the criteria for listing on the main market, with post-issue paid-up capital between PKR 25 million and PKR 200 million. Typical investors include Qualified Institutional Buyers and High Net Worth Individuals.

Futures Contracts

  • Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC): Standardized futures contracts for buying or selling securities with actual delivery at contract expiry, traded in lots of 500 shares, with 90-day maturity and T+2 settlement.

  • Single Stock Cash Settled Futures (CSF): Contracts for buying or selling shares at a future date at futures price, settled in cash, traded in lots of 500 shares, with 90-day maturity and T+1 settlement.

  • Stock Index Futures Contract (SIFC): Contracts for buying or selling a value of the underlying stock index at futures price, with a contract multiplier of Rs.5, 90-day maturity, and T+1 settlement. Available indices include KSE-30, OGTI, and BKTI.

Fixed Income – Secondary Market Trading

PSX also offers the chance to invest in the Fixed Income Segment with the following products, ideal for risk averse investors:

Corporate Debt Instruments: Corporate debt instruments are issued by companies to raise capital by borrowing instead of acquiring equity. These include Term Finance Certificates (TFCs), SUKUK Certificates, Registered Bonds, Corporate Bonds, and more.

Government Debt Instruments: Government Debt Securities (GDS) are financial instruments issued by the Government of Pakistan with durations ranging from 3 months to 30 years. Investors buy these securities to lend money to the government, which pays periodic rentals and returns the principal at maturity.
